SCF PICKLEBALL CLUB
EXECUTIVE BOARD
EXECUTIVE BOARD
NEW 2025-2026 DIRECTORS
Chris Prellwitz, President
|
My name is Chris Prellwitz and I am running for the Pickleball Board. Currently I serve the Board as the treasurer and hope to continue for another term to help see some long-term projects through. I have been a member of the club since 2016 and have seen this club grow exponentially. There have been so many changes and opportunities for players of all ability levels. My hope is that we continue to grow and change as needed.
My background is accounting. My club volunteer duties included being a former court cleaner, chairing the Hen House tournament and being a coach for 3.5-4.0 lessons last Spring. Some of my other prior volunteer experience includes being elected and serving sixteen years on the Mt. Pleasant Community School District board, serving as president for four years. In addition, I was elected to the Iowa Girls Athletic Union Board and served for eight years. This board oversaw, made rules/policy for all public and private schools in girls’ sports in Iowa as well as running all the state sport competitions. I was elected and served as trustee to Iowa Southeastern Community College for five years. I served as board president for one year. My husband and I chaired a committee which raised $230,000 to build a six-court pickleball facility on the Middle School property in our community. We modeled this after our courts here at Wagner. My only goal as a Board member is to listen and make decisions based on what is best for the club as a whole. I appreciate your vote. |
Kirk Olesen, Director at Large (Events & Tournaments)
|
I have been a part time Festival resident since 2010 and many of you may have played pickleball with me over these past years. This is my second year of full-time retirement and being a full-time resident. Over the past 14 years I have seen the massive increase in pickleball participation. Festival has expanded from 8 courts to 24 courts and that still seems like too few courts. I now have the time to use my 55 years of racket sport experience to help Festival's members with some of the tasks it is always facing.
In 2020 I became an ITPA Level 2 certified pickleball instructor and have taught several pickleball classes here at Festival. Last year I participated in running the in-house tournament and will continue with a management role in this year's tournament. I believe my ability to solve problems, get things accomplished and to communicate with players of all levels are my biggest assets. Thanks for considering me to represent you on the board. |
Diane Vierkant, Treasurer
|
I worked for Wells Fargo for 35 years in marketing. I worked for various divisions of the company including the corporate office, commercial banking and insurance. My roles in marketing included brand management, website design, and the production of TV and radio commercials.
I was on the board of my HOA when I owned a townhome in Minnesota. My third year on the board I became President. After retiring from Wells Fargo, I volunteered at our local hospital. My husband Jack and I picked up pickleball while still in Minnesota playing indoors at local schools. We fell in love with the game, and it became a huge part of our decision to move to Arizona and specifically, Sun City Festival. |
Tannie Chow, Vice President
|
I am throwing my Pickleball visor into the court for an open volunteer position.
My name is Tannie Chow and I am a Pickleball junkie! I enjoy working with people through my experience for numerous years as a Delta flight attendant. Therefore, I know how to listen and work with people and to hopefully help improve and keep our fabulous Pickleball program going. Extremely enthusiastic about the game, I love to encourage new and old (OK Most of us are old), to enjoy this amazing program we have here at SCF. What other game can promote health, camaraderie, skill, and be able to wear fabulous Pickleball outfits? Because there are four open positions, I highly encourage anyone and everyone who can elevate and continue this program to volunteer even as time is precious for all of us. Thank you all for your consideration and vote! |
Darlene Douglas, Secretary (appointed for a one-year term)
|
I am excited to offer my organizational skills, attention to detail, and passion for pickleball as a
candidate for Secretary of our Pickleball Club Board. My background includes a long career in insurance, where precision and clear communication were essential, and I now enjoy dedicating my time to collaborative and engaging activities. In addition to pickleball, I have a lifelong enthusiasm for performance and theater, having acted in various roles and worked on a dinner cruise boat in Seattle as an entertainer, where I honed my skills in communication, time management, and ensuring seamless coordination - all of which are essential for the role of Secretary. These experiences have sharpened my ability to work as part of a team, stay organized under pressure, and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. I have previously served on two different HOA boards as Vice President and Secretary, which has provided me with valuable experience in managing records, facilitating clear communication and collaboration, and overseeing organizational tasks. I would love the opportunity to help our club grow, stay informed, and thrive. I look forward to contributing my skills to serving the club and its members. Thank you for your consideration! |
2025 CONTINUING DIRECTORS
Rob Dryden, Director of Player Development)
|
My name is Rob Dryden Originally from Nebraska, I have resided in SCF since 2008. As a master plumber, by trade, and someone who provides a variety of handyman services throughout our community, many of you already know me.
I am a previous business owner, whose leadership and management skills will transfer over nicely in my ability to assist with a of our pickleball club needs, such as court time usage and monitoring, and being attentive to the voiced concerns of fellow club members. I already contribute to the PB club in a variety of ways. Whether I am helping with court cleanings, volunteering my time to assist with various club activities, or helping others with their PB development, I am regularly involved. I also spend a good portion of my time at the courts, regularly playing or watching the play of others. As a disabled amputee who was once restricted and limited in being able to participate in much, I refuse to let life hold me down. As a result, I am a very active & passionate club member, on and off the courts. I participate in tournament play, host off-site Introduction to Pickleball sessions for fellow amputees, and teach AARP pickleball during the summer, back in the Iowa/Nebraska area. I am currently seeking a board position with the belief that my skill set and passion for the sport will allow me to provide current and future insight, as our PB club continues its growth. I enjoy helping all skill levels to improve and contributing with the ongoing needs of our club. I am also committed to promoting a respectful and collaborative team culture, which includes my desire to provide an avenue for all club voices to be heard, and to do my best to ensure all members are being included. With your vote, I look forward to representing our club and the needs of its members. And if anything can be done to encourage Pulte leadership to build us additional courts, of course, I am all-in with the effort to do so. |
Scott Moyer, Director at Large (Rotations and Court Schedules)
|
My name is Scott Moyer and I am a candidate for the SCF Pickleball Club Director at large.
My passion (ok, addiction—you can find me on the courts most days playing or drilling) for pickleball started in 2015 when I moved to Bend, Oregon. I became a USAPA Ambassador and served on the Bend Pickleball board for 4 years in positions of vice-president and court utilization. I also assisted with the organization of the NW Regional tournaments for two years. Additionally, recognizing the needs of the rapidly growing club membership, I researched many applications and ultimately implemented Court Reserve, which continues to be used today in Bend as well as our club here in SCF. My wife Joan and I moved to SCF in 2019 as full-time residents and since then I have been very involved in the SCF Pickleball Club including running several tournaments, managing ball inventory, cleaning courts and organizing rotations as well organizing an all-inclusive group play. As one of your directors, I hope to continue to contribute and work with the other directors and the players in the community in the areas of court utilization, enhancing our court facilities and ensuring balanced and competitive play across ALL levels. My friends tell me that I have a reputation of listening and soliciting input and plan to use these skills to enhance the SCF Pickleball Club experience. |
