Sun City Festival Pickleball Club Board meeting
June 3, 2022
In Attendance:
Doug Gale – President
Beth Castle – Director at Large
Cheryl Casey- Secretary
Dave Owen – Vice President
Sandy Angle – Director at Large
Call to order, 2pm
Approval of Minutes
Minutes, to be amended to clarify courts available for rotations up to 13, remaining for reserve and open.. Amend, names voted on first court motion to allocate 14 courts changed to only sandy and Diane as ‘for’. May Minutes approved.
Cheryl moves that only when board votes and decision is not unanimous, names and how voted shall be listed in minutes. Motion approved
Court Allocations presentation; Sandy Angle
Referring to the schedules sent to members for discussion:
Dave asks for definition as prime time: Sandy explains time that is most popular. Sandy refers to prime time as ‘ideal time for rotations’
Doug asks about times of use. Doug confirmed that per SCF is dawn to 10 pm. Suggests to change start of play time to refer to dusk. Doug prefers a two hour time starting at dawn for open play and looks like Sandy’s plans accomplish this.
Clarification, Spring season is April to May, and rotations to start at 9 am. Summer June thru sept, Fall begins Oct 1, as always.
Discussions revolving around need to educate members as to how to integrate into open play.
Discussion to be continued.

- Sage PB courts: Tennis congestion conversation with SCF. Kim Reinhart agreed to support update hardscape, and will allow more space for seating, to increase shade and to improve aesthetics. She suggested use of Care funds…
- Elements 3 Health asking for fundraising event: for Medicare eligible members, can contribute up to 10$ a month to the club. Board asks for clarification as to what they would want in return. Doug will investigate.
- 3rd party training/instruction: board to consider a process for instruction for a fee that meets SCF guidelines. Cheryl to coordinate a process.
