SUMMARY OF FEBRUARY 11TH, 2019 BOARD MEETING
The Board of Directors
- Bylaws Committee – recommending change to percentage for quorum from 20% to 10% for voting. Expressed concern about difficulty in obtaining quorum. Brief special meeting to vote on changes proposed to be held on the last day of in-house tournament.
- President Report – Franklin balls will be used for in-house tournament. Fifty-seven (57) people signed up for free clinic with Deb Mascarin. Mini-tournaments will be held for people wishing to experience or improve tournament play.
- Treasurer Report – brought in $5,914 and spent $598 in January 2019.
- Programming– no scheduling changes other than requests for additional courts.
- Player Development –IPTPA ratings assessments have been conducted and additional assessments scheduled. Modules and players’ guides have been modified.
- Safety Committee – Authorized approximately $350 for purchase of identification tags which can be attached to member bags containing pertinent emergency contact information including address of courts.
- Social Committee – group of sixteen people met to generate a list of ideas. Watch for future social events!
- Facilities Committee– requested additional rollers/sponges for drying wet courts. Board authorized purchase of five additional rollers/sponges.
- Budget – Since reserve is healthy, Board approved budget with revenues of $11,000 and expenditures of $12,250. Approved budget includes reducing in-house tournament fee from $20 to $15.
- Non-Club Members – to report non-club member use of courts call HOA manager during normal business hours and Dave Pike or Bill Klein after business hours or if you cannot reach HOA manager. Looking into developing a code of conduct for Club. Guests need to be with a member and are limited to three times.
- Ball Machine – schedule will continue as is until fall but will be trying to put together a group of volunteers to coordinate and manage.
