- Club President, Doug Gale, called the meeting to order at 11:02 am.
- Doug Gale introduced the members of the Club’s Executive Board to the assembled membership.
- Various Executive Board members provided answers to the membership for bylaws questions that had been submitted to the Executive Board prior to this meeting. Document attached, click here.
- The floor was then opened for Members to express any comments they had regarding the new bylaws.
- A January 13th, 2022 report from CourtReserve found the number of current, paid members of the SCF Pickleball Club was 782. The number of members attending the meeting was 93. This number was greater than the 79 individual Members needed for a quorum, therefore, it was determined that a vote could take place on the new bylaws.
- The bylaw amendment vote was taken:
- Four (4) boxes were placed on tables in the assembly area, two (2) were labelled “Yes” and two (2) were labelled “No”.
- Members were instructed to place the voting ticket they had received during check-in into whichever box corresponded with their vote, a “Yes” vote being to approve the new bylaws, and a “No” vote being to disapprove the new bylaws.
- Once the voting was complete, the four (4) boxes were collected by volunteer Members from the assembly, those Members being Bill Baptiste, John Ranalli, Beth Castle, and Sandy Angle, who then counted the ballots cast in each voting box.
- Members were also presented with an opportunity to sign up for various volunteer positions within the club operations.
- Various Executive Board members then provided answers to general club questions that had been submitted to the Executive Board prior to this meeting. Document attached, click here.
- After completing the count of the votes, it was determined that 82 “Yes” votes were cast and 10 “No” votes were cast. As the bylaws current at the time of the vote called for a majority of the quorum to vote affirmatively in order for a matter to pass, it was determined that the new bylaws were approved by a majority of a quorum of the club membership, during a meeting called for the purpose of voting on new bylaws.
- Information was presented to the Members about where to find reports on the financial status of the club.
- There being no further business on the agenda, Doug Gale adjourned the meeting at 12:10 pm.
