​Summer 2024

Greetings, Pickleball Members!

We have completed another wonderful winter season and many of our Snowbirds have already left or are leaving soon for their summer homes, tents, trailers… Safe travels to all!  We look forward to seeing you next fall!

With the busy season behind us, this is a good time to share with you some thoughts and updates about our Club:

  • First, many thanks to our dedicated volunteers, whose support is essential to our Club’s success. To the Coordinators who run the Rotations, the Coaches and Helpers who teach Modules and Skills & Drills, the Tournament Directors and Organizers, the Court Cleaners and Online Store Owners – you have our heartfelt appreciation. We could not run the Club without you! Special Thanks also to the 2024 Board: Trevor, Mark, Chris, Rob, Diana, and Scott, and Super Thanks to Leila Mirza, our Club’s Admin.

  • Our Club continues to grow. We now officially have over 1300 members. Here’s a breakdown of players by skill level.    
  • The Summer Rotation Schedule has been posted, so check CourtReserve for updated times. As is the case every summer, the schedule is condensed due to the brutal heat. The busiest times of the day are morning play (from sunrise until 9 AM), and evening play (from sunset/7:30 pm until close). Please hydrate before you play and be aware of your body limits. Dehydration can cause serious complications. Call 911 if needed, and make sure your emergency contact info is easy to find hanging on your backpack.

  • Open Play guidelines have recently been updated and published on our website. Read the updated information here:   Open Play.

  • The Blue bags that were used to collect cracked balls have been removed from the courts. Please discard cracked balls in the trash bins.
 
  • The Board will continue to meet over the summer. We are still researching options for our 2024 Capital Project. As our By-Laws state, we need membership approval, so stay tuned for more details.
 
  • Don’t forget to visit our online store for all your Festival Pickleball gear! Shop tees, tank tops and other summer and winter apparel in a wide variety of colors and styles. They also make great gifts for family and friends! Here’s the link:   SCF Online Apparel Store
 
  • Our next tournament is scheduled for November 8-10, 2024. We are proud to be hosting the Military Pickleball Association Battle of the Branches (Gary Sinise Foundation). For information, go to www.TURNKEYTOURNAMENTS.NET
