SCF Pickleball Board Minutes
January 22, 2021
A meeting of the Sun City Festival Pickleball Board members was held at Wagner Courts on
1/22/2021 at 4:00 pm.
Present
● Doug Gale (President)
● Tom Karas (Vice-President)
● Mark Comer (Treasurer)
● Lynne Owen (Secretary)
● Ila Haas (Player Development)
● Katie Westermann (Communications)
New Business
In-house player rating system - Doug researched and reported to the board on the
rating systems that other pickleball clubs in the area are using for their play. A motion
was made by Doug, 2nd by Tom and passed by the board to establish a committee to
create an in-house rating system. Doug and Tom will head the committee.
HOA Rules for Chartered Clubs - The board reviewed the rules provided by the HOA
to make sure we are in compliance.
COVID Protocol - A meeting was held with the HOA regarding COVID procedures for
the pickleball club. A letter from Doug (President) will go out to all members
encouraging safe practices while at the pickleball courts.
Tournament Refunds - A motion was made by Mark, 2nd by Ila that monies will be
refunded for the 2020 In-House tournament and the 2020 Hen House . The refunds will
be issued to local residents by the end of March 2021. Motion was passed by the board
and an email will go out to all members on how to receive their refund.
Software Committee Report - Katie reported to the board that the committee had met
and discussed a list of requirements for the software package needed for the club as
well as several packages to research. The committee will be sending out an email to
club members asking for recommendations or input on packages they have used at
other clubs.
Meeting adjourned at 6:15 pm.
