President's Message - January 1, 2019
Happy New Year to our Pickleball family at Festival. We have much to be thankful for. Not only do we have a beautiful facility, we have a strong program that provides everyone multiple opportunities to play and learn this wonderful game. I imagine by now, many of you have been trying out your new Christmas PIckleball Paddles in search of that perfect game! Others may have new years resolutions to spend more time practicing or just hanging out at the courts! All is good in Paradise!
Looking back, I think we can call last year a “year of transition” as we adjusted our programs to operate at two venues for the first time. We owe the previous Board a debt of gratitude for all of the opportunities that they bring the club on a daily basis. If you get a chance, thank them when you see them on the courts. Don’t forget all the event coordinators and others who are the glue that provides you playing opportunities.
Our club is growing fast, and at year end, we have 726 members. At this pace, it won’t be long before we are a thousand strong!
The additional new venue and phenomenal growth of the club continue to challenge us as we look for ways to keep the “social aspects” of the club alive and improve our own game.
On January 17th at 6pm in Celebration Hall (Sage Center), you are invited to come and share your future thoughts for the club and compare them to our ideas and thoughts that we will share with you. We can then work on implementing those for which we have resources.
This meeting is an important event for the club. If you care about your club, please make plans to attend and, together, help us set its future direction.
Let me close with this quote by Helen Keller— “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
See you there!
